Dudley McGhee

Dudley McGhee, 66, of Greenbrier, died Tuesday January 10, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday January 14th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bill Hing and Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Bill Wright, Shaun McGhee, Kaelin McGhee, Jarvis Summers, Shawn Monfette, Jimmy Grogan, and Jeremy Woodside serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. There will be a Final Salute Ceremony by VFW Post 2120 on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. McGhee was born May 14, 1950 in Montgomery County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and he served during Vietnam. He was a retired line foreman with the City of Springfield and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. McGhee loved fishing, hunting, watching football and Western's on TV, and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Ruth Kennedy McGhee, by his sister: Cathy Lucas, and by his grandson: Justin Lee McGhee.

Mr. McGhee is survived by his wife: Janice Dennis McGhee of Greenbrier, son and daughter-in-law: Shaun and Kelley McGhee of Springfield, step-sons: John Michael Gilbert and wife Angela of Springfield, Christopher Ryan Gilbert of Springfield, brother and sister-in-law: David and Debra McGhee of Adams, sister and brother-in-law: Sue and Jimmy Grogan of Springfield, grandchildren: Kaelin Shaun McGhee, Ocoee Danielle Gilbert, and Wyatt Dakota Gilbert.
