Deland Elliott Obituary

Due to the present COVID-19 variant conditions, the family request that masks be worn by everyone attending the visitation and funeral services on Saturday.

William Deland Elliott, 75, of Cedar Hill, passed away on Monday August 30, 2021, at Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday September 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Duff officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with R.J. Douglas, Dalton Elliott, Deven Elliott, Daniel Elliott, Brandon Rice, and Todd Elliott serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rodger Elliott, Mike Elliott, Jennifer Brooke Rice, and Rachael Niven. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Elliott was born July 29, 1946, in Springfield to the late William Odell and Rosetta Bugg Elliott. He was a retired woodworker and furniture builder, having owned and operated Elliott and W.D. Furniture. He was a member of Battle Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Elliott loved watching sports, especially the Tennessee Titans, the Tennessee Vol’s, NASCAR, and golf, watching Mountain Man and westerns on TV, listening to his grandson sing, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents: William Jerome and Maggie Lee Elliott, Rufus and Lula Bugg, by his siblings: Ray Dean Elliott and Brenda King, by his son-in-law: Ken Wix, and by his brother-in-law: Chuck McBride.

Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Evelyn Denson Elliott of Cedar Hill, his sons and daughter-in-law: Anthony Deland Elliott of Cedar Hill, Jerry Scott and April Elliott of Springfield, by his daughters and son-in-law: Marica Kay and Craig Rice of Springfield, Shelia Renee Wix of White House, by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Rodger and Jeannie Elliott of Springfield, Mike and Lisa Elliott of Springfield, Todd and Karen Elliott of Franklin, KY, by his sisters and brother-in-law: Donna McBride of Ft. Wayne, IN, Betty and Jerry Smiley of Springfield, Rose Mary and Dale Crabtree of Greenbrier, and Pam Elliott of Springfield, by his nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made payable to Marica Rice for the Deland Elliott memorial fund or to the American Heart Association.
