Debbie Tate Obituary

Debra Jean “Debbie” Sorrells Tate, 63, of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday January 9, 2021 at North Crest Health. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday January 13th at 1:00 p.m. at the Milldale Chapel with Dr. David Jicka, Steve Sorrells, and Billy Sorrells officiating. Interment will follow in the Groves Cemetery in Portland with Brandon Tate, Clint Tate, Codie Searcy, Mason Kirkup, Jeremiah Johnson, and Bradley Baird serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Tate, Claudale Tate, Lance Tate, Mark Bennett, Homer Dale Mayes, Kyle Tate, and Chad Tate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Milldale Chapel.

Debbie was born October 30, 1957 in Honolulu, HI. She was a graduate of Greenbrier High School Class of 1975. Debbie worked 30+ years at Sorrells and Gossett Ford Tractor Company in Portland, she also worked in the Grand Ole Opry gift shop, and with O’Reilly Auto Parts. She was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church. Debbie loved sports, especially college football and basketball. Her teams were the Commodores and Vols. She loved spending time with her family, and especially always knowing what her grandchildren were doing. She was preceded in death by her father: William Thomas “Bill” Sorrells.

Debbie is survived by her husband: Dale Tate of Springfield, by her sons: Brandon (Hannah Harrison) Tate of Springfield, Heath (Charissa) Tate of Portland, Clint (Jada) Tate of Cross Plains, Claudale (Summer) Tate of Portland, and Lance (Chucky) Tate of Portland, by her mother: Jean Follis Sorrells of Greenbrier, by her brother: Tommy (Mitra) Sorrells of Windermere, FL, by her grandchildren: Kat (Blake) Ruby, Kodie Searcy, Lilli Tate, Dawson Tate, Dustin Tate, and Blayden Tate, and by her nieces: Analisa, Leila, and Shelby.
