Dawn (Cherry) McCormack

Fretta Dawn Cherry McCormack, 54, of Portland, passed from this life on Thursday August 24, 2023, at Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday August 29th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Lang officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Chapel Cemetery with Trent McCormack, Donnie Barnes, Nolan Rye, Scott Clinard, Daniel Williams, Jeff Cherry, and Scott Johnson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Trace McCormack, Rylan Huntsman, Cooper Johnson, and Bryce Johnson. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Dawn was born February 5, 1969, in Springfield, to the late Freddie Wayne and Mae Crabtree Cherry. She was a graduate of East Robertson High School Class of 1987 and was a lifelong member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church. She was the former office manager with White House Animal Hospital and was currently working as an office assistant with Davis Brown and Associates in Portland. Dawn loved animals, shopping, going to the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren, especially going to all of their ballgames.

Dawn is survived by her husband: Van McCormack of Portland, by her son: Trent Nelson McCormack and wife Katie of Cross Plains, by her grandchildren: Rylan Huntsman and Trace Nelson McCormack, by her sisters: Susan Williams and husband Bobby Joe of Portland, Lori Barnes and husband Donnie of Springfield, and Melody White of Nashville.
