David Ray Walden, 68, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday April 9, 2023, at his home. His remains will be cremated and there will be a time of visitation on Tuesday May 2nd from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. at The Grove Church at 2122 Tom Austin Hwy in Greenbrier. Following the visitation, family and friends will gather at The National Cemetery on Gallatin Rd. in Madison for a graveside committal service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 2, 2023.
David was born November 9, 1954, in Nashville, to the late Wade McDonald and Sophie Christine Moran Walden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during Vietnam, and he worked as a steel fabricator. David enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, NASCAR, and watching football, especially the TN Titans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Beverly Kay Cundiff.
David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Tami and Joshua Crowder of Springfield, by his son and daughter-in-law: Bryan and Chrissy Walden of Springfield, by his brother: Bruce Walden of Portland, by his sister: Donna Rossi of Woodbury, by his grandchildren: Tyler Smith, Emily Quinn, Natalie Hinkle, Bryan Walden, Jr., and Carsyn Henderson, and by his four great grandchildren.
