Danny Blackburn

Danny Anthony Blackburn, 65, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday September 30, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday October 3rd at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Ranel Woody, Phillip Brown, B.J. Drake, Jacob Traughber, Terry Blackburn, Jr., and Jerrid Traughber. Johnny Traughber will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Danny was born March 7, 1955 in Robertson County to the late Elouis Hassell and Mary Elizabeth Burns Blackburn. He worked as a foreman for Wylie Steel and was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. Danny loved drawing, painting, deep sea fishing, and working in his flowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Carolyn Jeannette Pewitt Blackburn, and by his siblings: Terry Wayne Blackburn, James Louis Blackburn, David Blackburn, Steven Blackburn, and Shirley Ann Kurbis.

Danny is survived by his sisters: Mary Hamill of Springfield, Joyce Traughber of Cedar Hill, Carolyn Brown of Adams, Linda Gail Blackburn of Lebanon, and Kathleen Woody of Springfield, by his devoted caregiver: Nancy McKinney of Springfield, and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
