Clyde Evelyn (Brewer) Gatewood

Clyde Evelyn Gatewood age 96 of White House, TN. Departed this life on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at White House HealthCare Inc. in White House, TN.

She was born May 2, 1930, in Portland, TN to the late Oliver and Widdie Brewer. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and Mothers’ Board.

Besides her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Clarence Raymond Gatewood, son Hallie Gatewood, brothers Charles, Carl, Ellis Wayne, Edgar Brewer. Sisters Frances Johnson, Hallie Brewer, Ruth Bratton, Lassie Burns and Shirley Brewer.

She leaves to survive, Son Raymond {Faye} Gatewood, daughters, Lassie {Charles} Turner, Betty Jo Young, Widdie Faye Lewis, and Josephine (William) Oliver. Fourteen grandchildren and host of great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Orlinda with Pastor Robert Bell officiating and Pastor Cedric Poellinitz, Sr. delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
