Clarine Pendley Obituary

Clarine Davis Pendley 98 of Glasgow KY, formally of Springfield TN, departed peacefully from this life and went on to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at NHC in Glasgow, KY.

Under the care of Robertson County Funeral Home, a private Graveside service will be held for Ms. Pendley with Tim Harris officiating.

She will be laid to rest at Springfield Memorial Gardens, alongside the love of her life and father of her children, Claude Robert Angel.

Clarine was born March 21st, 1925, in Autreyville, Georgia to the late Clarence & Nellie Mae Holman Davis.

Ms. Clarine was a lady of strong and unwavering faith as she faced many challenges and losses throughout her life. A true overcomer, she was determined and resilient, always trying to look forward with optimism.  Her ability to accept adversities and adapt with courage and grace was a true inspiration to all who knew her.

Clarine was always a social butterfly who loved life.  Her outgoing and fun (although sassy) personality drew people to her.  She liked to dress up and wanted to keep her hair and nails just so.  Until her eyes & ears began to fail, she enjoyed watching “Pat Sajak” (Wheel of Fortune), attending the local Senior Center for fellowship and dancing, playing any piano she was near (“pecking on the keys” as she called it), for anyone who would listen.  She was a very talented quilter and seamstress who could even at times make clothing without a pattern.  She was of the Baptist faith and served as church pianist over the years, alongside two of her husbands who served as song leaders.  She took great pride in the many years she worked as an L.P.N. at Jesse Holman Jones Hospital (now TriStar NorthCrest) as well as several area nursing homes. After retirement, she later used those nursing skills to lovingly care for each of her husbands through their cancer journeys.

In addition to her parents, she will be welcomed into Heaven by her husbands Claude Angel, Odell Croslin and Ed Pendley; children Kenny Angel and Bobby Angel; sisters Dorothy Tibbles and Frances England; brother Russell Davis and special friend Dolan Leding.

Left to cherish her memory, Ms. Pendley is survived by her loving son Paul Angel, as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren who will greatly miss their “Granny Angel”.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in Clarine’s memory to:  American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or Robertson County Senior Center.  Clarine’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff of Highland Ridge Assisted Living in Glasgow KY and NHC of Glasgow for all the care and compassion shown to her over the past few years.
