Charles Elmer (Chuck) McBride, 69, a loving husband, dad, and Papa, passed away on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at his home, after an extended illness. He was a resident of Grove City, Ohio. He was born September 18, 1951 in Nashville, TN to the late Elmer E. McBride and Colleen McBride Minton.
Chuck was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving from 1968-1973. He was a police officer for Metro Nashville. In 1976 he started his railroad career with CSX Railroad as a switchman and retired as an executive from G & W RR in 2016. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hot rod cars and showing his 1937 Plymouth at antique car shows. The light of his life was attending sports events watching his grandson Charlie compete in baseball, basketball, and football.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 49 years: Donna Elliott McBride of Grove City, OH formally of Springfield, by his son Charles “Gator” (Amy) McBride of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and by his four grandsons: Charlie McBride, Adam, Aaron, and Austin Elliott. He is also survived by his sisters: Patty (Rob) Carpenter and Barbara McBride, both of Murfreesboro, and numerous other family and friends. Chuck’s remains have been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday April 17, 2021 at Robertson County Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM on Saturday.
