Carolyn (Peek) Rice

Carolyn Joyce Peek Rice, 65, of Springfield, passed from this life on Friday July 10, 2026, at her home. Celebration of Life services will be conducted Friday July 17th at 3:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born December 12, 1960, in Solano, CA. She was a former assembly technician, and she was a Christian. Carolyn loved crocheting, playing games on her phone, watching movies, especially Ever After, and she loved her animals. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren that she loved so much. She was preceded in death by her father: James Elmer Peek, by her mother: Deanie Darleen Stanley Frazier, and by her husband: Mitchell Davis Rice.

Carolyn is survived by her children: Brandee Coonce and her husband Raymond of Cross Plains, Steven Mefford and his wife Christy of Texas, and Jessica Ferrante and her husband Justin of Springfield, by her grandchildren: Matthew Coonce, Brianna Coonce, Tobias “Peanut” Ferrante, and Genevieve “Lil Bit” Ferrante, and by her brothers: Jimmy and Kenny Peek both of Springfield, Terry and Robbie Peek both of Oklahoma, Danny Bir of Mt. Juliet, and Joe Chotner of Illinois, by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and by her fur babies.
