Bruce Edward Cox, Sr., of Cedar Hill, passed away on Friday January 31, 2020 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday February 3rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Vanderbilt, MI. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Cox was born December 16, 1941 in Ontario, Canada to the late Wilfred and Mary Chance Cox. He was a retired Police Officer from the Detroit Police Department. After retirement, he worked and retired from Retron Manufacturing in Gaylord, MI, and then retired from the Sporting Goods department at the Springfield Wal-Mart. Mr. Cox was a member of the Ham Radio Club, the Detroit FOP, and was of the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, playing guitar and banjo, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives: Marilyn Cox, and Cindy Cox, and sons: Robert Cox, and Leslie Cox. Mr. Cox is survived by his wife: Kay Sowell Wilson Cox of Cedar Hill, by his sons: Michael Cox of Michigan and Bruce Cox, Jr., of Raleigh, NC, by his daughters: Janice Cahill of Casper, WY and Bridget Strudwick of Arizona, by his step-children: Rick Saxton of Atlanta, MI, Dewey Saxton of Deltona, FL, Sara Thorson of Leesburg, GA, and Stacy Saxton of Cedar Hill, by Several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
