Bruce Adams, 85, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday March 10, 2024, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 14th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Spain officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Plains Cemetery with Victor Hamilton, Jon Miller, Ken Sloan, Jordan Bishop, Tommy Green, and Robert Hooberry serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Bruce was born May 17, 1938, in Springfield, to the late Johnnie B. and Ozie Holman Adams. He was a graduate of East Robertson High School Class of 1956 and was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church. Bruce was a farmer by profession and by heart. He loved farming, feeding his cows, hogs, and sheep, watching wrestling, watching car racing and was a big fan of Kyle Bush. In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his sister: Nancy Cook.
Bruce is survived by his wife: Gail Claborn Adams of Springfield, by his son: David (Gayle) Adams of Springfield, by his daughters: Lavonna (Victor) Hamilton of Smithville, Stephanie (Jon) Miller of Middelbury, IN, and Brittany (Ken Sloan) Tibbels of Springfield, by his sister: Mae McCraw of Springfield, by his fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren, and by his former caregivers and righthand farm hands: Susie and Chrissy Basil.
