Brad Russell, 74, of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday June 18, 2026, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center. Celebration of Life services will be conducted Tuesday June 23rd at 3:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with his son, Clint Russell, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 23rd from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Brad was born April 9, 1952, in Springfield, to the late Billy Russell and Geneva Cardwell Russell. He was a graduate of East Robertson High School Class of 1970 and was of the Baptist faith. Brad worked 47 years for CSX Railroad, where he retired as a Signalman. He loved going to the YMCA, riding motorcycles, fishing, and was a very skilled carpenter that enjoyed working with his hands. Brad’s favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition of his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Jake Bradley Russell, by his step-mother: Mildred Russell, and by his sister: Jenny Russell Bennett. Brad is survived by his wife of 42 years: Mary Jane Fiser Russell of Springfield, by his son and daughter-in-law: Clint and Julie Russell of Adams, by his daughter and son-in-law: Jessie and Rob Jones of Greenbrier, by his grandchildren: Morgan Russell, Anna Ruth Russell, Sawyer Jones, Jake Jones, and Bobbie Jane Jones, by his brother and sister-in-law: Mark and Tonya Russell of Portland, by his sisters: Gayle Russell Wiegel of Louisville, KY and Lisa Russell Mendelsohn, and by his step-brother: Stuart Russell and wife Tammy of Franklin, KY.
