Bobby Dean Sneed, 83, of Springfield, passed away on Friday November 6, 2020 at Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday November 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Justin Johnson, Adam Schreiber, Tyler Sneed, Conner Sneed, Tommy Logsdon, Josh Groves, Jeremiah Johnson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Pinson, Nolan Blick, and Ronnie Cope. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Sneed was born October 19, 1937 in Ohio to the late Robert M. “Bob” and Hazel Smith Sneed. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mr. Sneed retired from farming, and through the years he had also worked at Gates Rubber, was a mail carrier, and worked in logging. He enjoyed looking for ginseng, hunting, fishing, spending time with his kids and grandkids, traveling, eating out with family and friends, and having game night, especially playing and winning Left, Right, Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law: Bill Johnson, by his brothers: Bill and Roger Sneed, and by his sisters: Betty Trotter, Sheree Sneed, Carolyn Jernigan, and Sue Freeman. Mr. Sneed is survived by his wife of 63 years: Jackie Benton Sneed of Springfield, by his sons and daughters-in-law: Buddy Sneed and Jackie Adams of Springfield, Bobby “Toodle” and Melissa Sneed of Springfield, David Lynn and Barbara Sneed of Springfield, by his daughters: Vickie Johnson of Springfield and Debbie Boyd of Springfield, by his brothers: Ricky (Linda) Sneed of Springfield, R.L. Sneed of Austin, KY, by his sisters: Charlotte Belt of Springfield, Diane (Cordell) Roberts of Franklin, KY, Teeney Pitt of Orlinda, by his 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
