Bettye "Honey" Chaffin Obituary

Bettye Anne “Honey” Chaffin, 86, of Ridgetop, passed from this life on Friday December 3, 2021, at her home. In honor of her wishes, she will be cremated, and no public services will be held. Mrs. Chaffin was born April 14, 1935, in Nashville, to the late Otis Lee and Louise Spence Mangrum. She was a retired business owner and a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgetop. Mrs. Chaffin enjoyed painting and in her younger years, playing her guitar. More than anything, Mrs. Chaffin loved the Lord, and she enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Chaffin, and by her siblings: Archie Mangrum, Garner Mangrum, and Ima Mangrum Whitlock. Mrs. Chaffin is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Dwayne and Gail Chaffin of Joelton, by her daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa “Terri” and Gary Morris of Greenbrier, Karen and Gary Dean of Greenbrier, by her grandchildren: Rachel (Chris) Hunter, Amy (Rob) DeBerry, Daniel (Lauren) Dean, Beau (Michelle) Morris, Shelby (Taylor) Carr, by her 5 great grandchildren, by her siblings: Wayne (Joey) Mangrum of Nashville, David (Pam) Mangrum of Smyrna, Helen Sawyer of Nashville, and Laura Cole of Smyrna, by her devoted caregiver and extended family member: Keren McComas, by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, her late husband’s family, that she loved and cared for so much: Paula McCord, Judy (Jimmy) Adkins, Joan (Ralph) Gregory, and Neil (Sandra) Chaffin, and by several nieces, nephews, and her neighbor’s that were so dear to her.

The family wishes to extend their love and appreciation to Comfort Care Hospice for their devoted care, attention, and love for Mrs. Chaffin.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Chaffin’s memory to the Open-Door Pregnancy Center in Springfield. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
