Bettye Jean Goodwin Fowler, age 85 of Springfield, died Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Springfield Heights. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 9 AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Fowler was born September 12, 1934 in Robertson County to the late Rias Harrison and Loreta Merritt Goodwin. She was a member of Barren Plains Baptist Church and was retired from Robertson County EMS where she was an EMT. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross and was active in TIKI MAST. She enjoyed fishing and driving the tractor on the farm. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Wesley Fowler, and her brother, James Harrison Goodwin.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chip and Hilda Miller of Springfield; daughter, Jaynie Hughes of Pahrump, NV; step-son and wife, Greg and Tammy Fowler of Cummings, GA; step-daughters, JoEllen Fowler and Annette Fowler, both of Nashville; grandchildren, Cayce McDonald and husband, Jon, Matt Miller and wife, Jenna, Kelsie Fowler, and David Fowler; and great grandchildren, Kaili McDonald, Joshua McDonald, Samantha McDonald, and Callan Miller.
The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to Springfield Heights. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
