Betty Villines Obituary

Betty Jean Clinard Villines, age 85 of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Sheryl Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Plains Cemetery with Jay Groves, Logan Dean, Brad Villines, Wesley Lamb, Cory Jones, and Jeff Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Jones, Kevin Clinard, Kerry Clinard, David Clinard, and Brandon Clinard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service.

Mrs. Betty was born December 21, 1938 in Lamont, TN to the late Clyde Clifford and Laura Mae Rainwater Clinard. She was a member of Cross Plains United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and worked as a homemaker most of her life. In her earlier years she worked at Life & Casualty Insurance. She was known as a social butterfly having been a cheerleader at East Robertson High School where she graduated in 1957. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Jimmy to places such as the Caribbean and Alaska. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Clifford and Wayne Clinard; and sisters, Peggy Murphy, Joyce Jones, and Kay Clinard.

Surviving her are her husband, Jimmy Villines of Cross Plains; son, Chris (Melissa) Villines of White House; daughters, Kim Villines Groves of Cross Plains and Laurie (Tim) Lassiter of Cross Plains; brother, Jewel Thomas Clinard of Cross Plains; grandchildren, Jay (Hannah) Groves, Logan (Autumn) Dean, Brad Villines, Kaylee Villines, Sydney Lassiter, and Ava Lassiter; and great grandchild, Tenley Dean.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to Cross Plains United Methodist Church. All donation can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
