Betty (Lane) Swearingen

Betty L. Swearingen, age 92 of Orlinda, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at White House Healthcare. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Lance Wamble officiating. Burial will follow in Orlinda Cemetery with Tim Swearingen, Rodney Swearingen, Kirk Swearingen, Dukie Eden, Lane Eden, and Kelby Chowning serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Betty’s great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Swearingen was born October 6, 1931 in Franklin, KY to the late Leroy and Connie Pinson Lane. She was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church and the Orlinda Senior Center. She enjoyed working outside in her yard, mowing her own yard as long as she could, and cooking. She loved having company, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as her entire family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Swearingen, by her sisters, Imogene Brigance and Bonnie Goostree, and by her granddaughter, Kristen LaShea Swearingen.

Surviving her are her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sharon Swearingen of Orlinda; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Ronnie Eden of Springfield; grandchildren, Dukie (Alyssa) Eden, Kristy (Len) Chowning, Tammy Eden, Tim (Tabitha) Swearingen, Rodney Swearingen, and Kirk (Emmie) Swearingen; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family would like to thank White House Healthcare for all their care during the last few months of their loved one’s life.
