Benjamin Riley Byrd Obituary

Benjamin Riley Byrd, 25, of Springfield, passed away on Monday November 17, 2025, at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday November 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Sharon Cemetery with Micheal Crain, Jayce Nichols, Colton Mayers, Lewis Henderson, Samuel Wix, and Robert Butterworth serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Riley was born October 24, 2000, in Nashville. He hit the ground running by the time he was 9 months old, and he didn’t stop moving since.  Riley enjoyed working at True Friends Moving Company and Jack Ward Plumbing and was currently working in maintenance at Hail & Cotton. He loved playing his guitar, singing, and loved watching movies and TV, especially all the Taylor Sheridan shows. He loved to put a smile on people’s faces. While he loved all these things, his biggest passion in life was getting to be a father to his son, Jordan Riley Byrd. He believed that Jordan was his biggest blessing in life.

Riley loved being around his friends, laughing, and just enjoying life to the fullest. He was vocal about his love for Jesus and was active in his journey to recovery. Riley did his best to live his life with integrity and believed in the importance of being kind to one another.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Julia Leigh Rockey, and grandmother: Ola Sue Bryant. Riley is survived by his son: Jordan Riley Byrd of Dickson, by his father: Phillip Riley Byrd of Portland, by his sister: Destanie Cass of Greenbrier, by his grandparents: Riley and Linda Byrd of Portland and Autry Benjamin Bryant of Springfield, by his uncles: Autry Ray Bryant of Springfield and Keith Byrd, by his aunt: Ruthie Byrd Pegram of Orlinda, and by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Riley was the kind of man who would do anything he could to help others. If you or someone you know is struggling, he would want you to seek help and to know you’re not alone.https://samctr.org/ and  https://usa-na.org/find-na/
