Steve Wix

Johnny Stephen "Steve" Wix, age 61 of Springfield, TN died Saturday April 9, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at South Haven Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Frank Gagliano with Bro. Buddy Rawls, Tammy Latimer and David Gray speaking. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with David Latimer, Josh Latimer, Tom Latimer, T.J. Slagle, Michael Waltz, Jeff Wix and James Wix serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Conner Wix and Kris Scott. The family will receive friends at the Robertson County Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 pm and at the church on Wednesday beginning at 11 am until the hour of service at 1.
Steve was born in Sumner Co, TN on February 18, 1955 to Ruby Baxter Wix and the late Johnny V. Wix. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Robin Smith and grandchild, Jonathan Gage Carlisle. He was a member of and loved deeply, South Haven Baptist Church where he was active in the prison ministry and serving God. Steve was a veteran of the National Guard and a big fan of the Titans and Vandy.
Surviving him are his wife, Cheryl Keeton Wix of Springfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Michael Waltz of Springfield and Stacey and T.J. Slagle of Greenbrier; mother, Ruby Baxter Wix of Springfield; step-son, Brandon Soyars of Elkton, KY; step-daughter, Lindsay Soyars of Springfield; brothers, James Wix of Springfield and Jeff (Deborah) Wix of White House; sisters, Suzanne Asay of Springfield, Tammy (David) Latimer of Portland and Betty Jo (Randy) Scott of Springfield and grandchildren, Katelen Carlisle, Hannah Thorpe, Haley Slagle, Gracie Waltz, Keeton Soyars, Lauren Waltz, Sarah Slagle, Elijah Soyars and John Slagle.
