Sallie Newberry

Sallie Kennedy Newberry, 85, of Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Thursday September 7, 2017 at Whitehaven Assisted Living in Adams. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday September 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Jason Newberry, Joey Newberry, Thomas Deal, Jeff Hart, Michael Kennedy, James Kennedy, and David Kennedy serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Newberry was born May 18, 1932 in Montgomery County to the late Harry and Lady Mae Chestnut Kennedy. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Newberry loved sewing and cooking, especially making pies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Horace Elbert Newberry, Sr, her daughter: Gertrude Newberry Deal, and by her siblings: Nancy Hart, Eugene, Clifford, Dorris, J.R., Harold, Buck, and Joe Kennedy.

Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Horace E. and Vickie Newberry, Jr., of Cedar Hill, daughter and son-in-law: Ann and Larry Schneider of Springfield, son-in-law: Terry Deal of Cedar Hill, grandchildren: Jason (Julie) Newberry, Joe (Emily) Newberry, Thomas (Jodi) Deal, six great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their love and appreciation to all the staff and employee's of Whitehaven Assisted Living for their care, concern, and love for Mrs. Newberry.
