Peggy Rainwater Obituary

Peggy Anne Rainwater, 85, of Greenbrier, passed away on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at the home of her daughter. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday October 21st at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Joe Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rainwater was born August 2, 1933 in Robertson County to the late Duke and Lela Covington Simmons. She was a retired manager from the Kroger Company in Brentwood, and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Rainwater enjoyed fishing, camping, canning, and cooking. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Lady Vols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Gerald Rainwater, her son: Samuel Kipp Rainwater, her brothers: Wilburn and Bryce Simmons, and by her sister: Dorothy Benningfield.

Mrs. Rainwater is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Glinda and Basel Manley Mixon, III of Greenbrier, her sister: Margaret Clark of Springfield, grandsons: Lt. Col. Basel Manley (Sarah) Mixon, IV and Walter Joshua Mixon, DVM, six additional grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.

The family wishes to extend their love and appreciation to Stephanie Litchford, Patricia Harris, and all of the North Crest Hospice team. They ask that if so desired, memorial gifts be given in Mrs. Rainwater's memory to the North Crest Hospice
