Peggy Gunn Obituary

Peggy Joyce Dudley Gunn, 90, of Springfield, died Sunday February 4, 2018 at The Waters of Robertson. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday February 7th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Oakley officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with George R. Gunn, Robert Ralston, Clyde Dean, David Dean, Henry Dean, Brad Carneal, and Sam Hollingsworth serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry and Phyllis Hickerson, Lynn Antheil, Shirley Hinton, and Brigitte Johnson.

Mrs. Gunn was born January 23, 1928 in Columbus, GA to the late George B. and Jimmi Lou Johnson Dudley. She was a homemaker and business partner with her husband in Gunn's Animal Clinic. She was a Girl Scout troop leader for eight years, and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Dr. Jack Anderson Gunn, by her brother: Lt. Col George F. Dudley, and by her niece: Debra Dudley. Mrs. Gunn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Joyce Ann and David M. George of Clearwater, FL, grandson: Daniel Morgan George of Clearwater, FL, nieces: Cindy Gunn Putnam of Manchester, Lovie Gilbert Raines of Germantown, Gayle Gilbert Alber of New Jersey, and Sandra Dudley of Virginia, nephews: George R. Gunn of Seymour and Randall George Dudley of Virginia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stokes Brown Library, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or Springfield Baptist Church
