Olen B. Ross

Olen B. "Rocky" Ross, age 93 of Springfield, TN, died Monday, December 18, 2017 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday December 21, 2017 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville at 3 pm Thursday with Jeff Groves, Scott Morton, Mike Reaves, Brian Tate, David Turner and Michael Barnett serving as pallbearers. Dick Dean will serve as honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 am until 1 pm.
Mr. Ross was born March 26, 1924 in Washington, NC to the late Vyron Earl Ross Sr and Carrie Broach Ross. His wife, Frances Ann Witty Ross, infant son, James Francis Ross and his brother, Vyron Earl Ross Jr, also preceded him in death. He was a member of Central Christian Church, a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a gunner in the South Pacific. He retired from the railroad where he was a signal maintainer for 42 years.
Rocky is survived by his son, Galen E. Ross of Springfield, TN; daughter, Marion Zimmerman of Clarksville, IN; grandchildren, Breanna Nicole Ross and Rose Zimmerman Caple.
