James McQuiston Obituary

James Claude McQuiston, age 90 of Greenbrier, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Waters of Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Chad Phelan officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Curtis McQuiston, Jason McQuiston, Harvey Major, John Twist, Jeff DeLong, and Walker Bloodworth serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4 until 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. McQuiston was born September 20, 1927 in Davidson County to the late Thomas and Eula Bowers McQuiston. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Nashville Bridge Company. He enjoyed working out in his yard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Ruth Graves McQuiston, and his brothers, Thomas and Harry McQuiston.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Vikki McQuiston of Greenbrier and Robert "Bubba" and Anita McQuiston of Greenbrier; grandsons, Curtis McQuiston and Jason McQuiston; and great grandchildren, Damon McQuiston and Jessica McQuiston.
The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
