Obituary

Gerald "Dicky" Peyton, age 80 of White House, died Friday, January 5, 2018 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield, Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. David Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Allen Strickland., Lee Pendleton, Charles Strickland, Jay Peyton, Rick Peyton, and Matthew Fite serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 4 until 8 PM, with a Masonic service at 8 PM, and Tuesday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Peyton was born February 27, 1937 in Chattanooga to the late Gerald L. and Jane Rice Peyton. He attended East High School in Nashville and was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. He drove a truck for 40 years and after retirement drove a bus for Robertson County Schools for 15 years. He was a member of Crystal Fountain Lodge and was a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Peyton of White House; sons, Gerald Peyton, Jr. of Goodlettsville and Jay Peyton of Old Hickory; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Charles Strickland of Springfield; sister, Sally Oxford of Goodlettsville; and grandchildren, Alyssa Strickland and fiancé' Matthew Fite and Charles Allen Strickland and wife Brittany.
The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to the Shriner's Hospital. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
