Steve Gainous, 60, of the Barren Plains community in Springfield, passed away on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Allen Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in the Gainous Cemetery on Dot Road in Adairville, KY, with Dalton Gainous, Ivan Gainous, Jeremy Gainous, Preston Gibson, Trystan Gibson, Zeke Gainous, Scott Gainous, and Terry Wayne Creek serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Lee Creek, John White, Charles Atchley, and Earl Fuqua. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Steve was born December 9, 1958 in Springfield. He was a graduate of Adairville High School Class of 1976 and was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church. He worked for fifteen years at Unarco in Springfield and was a lifetime farmer. Steve loved to fish, hunt arrowheads, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his family. He was preceded in death by his grandchild: Avery Brooke Gainous, and by his son-in-law: James Earl Gibson. Steve is survived by his wife: Brenda White Gainous, his children: Corissa Gainous Gibson, Jeremy (Lindsay) Gainous, Ivan (Abbi Graves) Gainous, and Dalton (Kamala) Gainous all of Springfield, his parents: Glenn Price and Murlene Hester Gainous of Adairville, KY, his brother: Scott Gainous of Adairville, KY, his grandchildren: Preston Gibson, Trystan Gibson, Brennlee Gibson, Addyson Gainous, Anyston Gainous, Hailey Gainous, Charlotte Gainous, and Dawson Gainous, and by two that loved him as a grandfather: Bentley and Makinsey.
