Roberta Lee Wright, 92, of Springfield, departed this life on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday May 28th at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Boards officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with James Neblett, Gerald Neblett, Stacy Neblett, Tim Bailey, Cory Bigsbee, Jr., and Dobbie Dowlen serving as pallbearers. Her granddaughters will serve as Flower Girls. Visitation with the family will be from 12 noon until service time on Tuesday at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.
Ms. Roberta was born January 13, 1927 in Cedar Hill to the late John E. and Elizabeth Wright. She professed Christ at an early age. Ms. Roberta retired from housekeeping at Nashville Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board. She enjoyed knitting, working crossword puzzles, and was an excellent cook. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Sylvester Ellis, by her children: Stella Louise Wright, James Ray Wright, and Michael Sanders Wright, by her step-son: James Ellis, and by her siblings: Johnnie, Pearly, Louise, Ida, Mary, Ruth, and James.
Ms. Roberta leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children: Clifford (Rochelle) Wright of Springfield, Robert Wright of Springfield, Lizzie Neblett of Cedar Hill, Delores (Jessie) McFadden of Rochester, NY, and Sylvia Wright of Springfield, by her 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren, her step-children: Fannie (James) Bowens, Peggy Lunsford, and Teresa (Roosevelt) Pryor, her special nieces: Christine and Chelsey Neblett, Brenda Wright, Sharon (Harvey) Combs, Karen (David) Clay, by her special nephews: Butch Wilson, Junior (Manelle) Wright, and by her devoted friends: Gladys Frazier, Odessa Dowlen, Rose Page.
