Pauline Jones Traughber

Pauline Jones Traughber, age 104 of Springfield, TN died Wednesday November 27, 2019 at NHC Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday December 3, 2019 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Shelley Hale and Rev. Jerry Heflin officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Curtis Cherry, Chris Traughber, Rocky Casto, Jay Jackson, Drew Jackson, Jon Jackson, Jason Jackson, Rodney Arviso, Jeff Parker and David Hale serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday December 2nd from 3-7 pm and again on Tuesday from 9 am until service time at 11 am.

Mrs. Traughber was born December 19, 1914 in Robertson County, TN to the late Mary Frances Morris Jones and Ben Turner Jones. Her husband of 68 years, Richard Gordon Traughber Sr.; son, Jerry Jackson; sisters, Mary Frances Johnson and Dorothy Mefford and brothers, Mitchel, Delbert, Ben Jr., Billy and Richard “Cotton” Jones also preceded her in death. Mrs. Pauline was a member of Barren Plains Baptist Church, however she spent most of her adult life a member of Oak Grove Baptist where she was a Sunday School teacher and was instrumental in reviving the GA’s and Acteens program’s. She considered herself a homemaker but was an Avon rep for a time. She loved family, especially participating in the Jones reunions. Anyone that knew Mrs. Pauline knew shopping was a favorite past time of hers and she was good at it.

Surviving her are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard G. Traughber, Jr and Shelia of Springfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Traughber Green and Fred of Henderson, TN and Libby Traughber Cherry and Tommy of Coopertown, TN; daughter-in-law, Aleece Jackson of Dyersburg, TN; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
