Nancy Field Burton, 81, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday August 12, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday August 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Joe Rushing officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jerry Dean Pendleton, Randall Harbert, Justin Frazier, Jake O’Brien, Brayden Harbert, and Aeson Harbert serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burton was born June 18, 1938 in Nashville to the late Buford Luster and Rebecca Elizabeth Field Reding. She was a homemaker and worked several years at Diesel Sales and Service in Nashville as an Accounts Receivable Clerk. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Burton always loved helping on the family farm. She loved sewing and was an excellent seamstress and won many ribbons and awards at the Robertson County Fair. When her daughters were in school, she always served as a room mother. She loved going to her grandchildren’s ballgames and outings whenever she could.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Edwin Burton, her daughter: Melinda Burton Harbert, and by her sister: Martha Reding Swah. Mrs. Burton is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Brenda Frazier of Springfield, Becky and Todd Gunn of Cedar Hill, by her grandchildren: Randall (Tiffany) Harbert, Jessica Gower, Justin (Dana) Frazier, Ashley (Logan) Carter, Mary Beth (Jake) O’Brien, Daniel (Yeselin) Pendleton, and Dean Pendleton, and by 9 great grandchildren.
