Joyce (Knight) McKinney

Joyce Knight McKinney, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday March 14, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday March 19th at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Smith and Pastor Gary Dillard officiating. Interment will follow in the Battle Creek Cemetery with Jason McKinney, Jeffrey McKinney, John Traughber, Matthew Traughber, Patrick Pendelton, Cayden McKinney, James McKinney, and Joshua McKinney serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Joyce was born September 1, 1939 in Robertson County to the late Gordon H. and Avle Addie Ellis Knight. She retired from Electrolux, where she worked in quality assurance for thirty-three years. She was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church and the North Crest Medical Center Auxiliary. Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Donnie W. Knight and by her sisters: Annette Vann and Helen R. Reeder.

Joyce is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: James R. and Jeannine McKinney of Massachusetts, Donald C. McKinney of Springfield, Bobby R. McKinney of Springfield, Jerry L. and Missy McKinney of Clarksville, by her daughters and sons-in-law: Cynthia and Dennis Stencel of Springfield, Sandra and Troy Balthrop of Springfield, by her brother and sisters-in-law: Ronnie D. and Sue Knight of Ashland City, Martha Knight of Springfield, by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy E. Biggs of Springfield, Jane and Bobby Watts of Springfield, Glenn Vann of Erin, by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren
