J. W. Jones

J.W. Jones, age 78 of Springfield, died Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Duncan Leavell and Mark Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Montana Jones, Kyle Jones, Dustin Jones, Chance Jones, Jodie Jones, John Epley, Dustin Epley, and Junior Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Josh Powell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 3 until8 PM and Saturday from 11 AM until the hour of service.

Mr. Jones was born March 16, 1941 in Robertson County to the late James M. and Lois Jones. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a dairy farmer and then worked and retired from Electrolux. He enjoyed watching his family play sports, doing karaoke, and watching RFD TV, especially Hee Haw. In addition to  his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael D. Jones and two brothers, Bobby and Ray Jones.

J.W. is survived by his wife, Betty Jones of Springfield; sons and daughters-in-laws, Junior and Melissa Jones of Springfield, Jeff and Tina Jones of Adairville, KY, Joe and Dawn Jones of Springfield, and Jay and Kim Jones of Springfield; brothers, Carl Jones and Wayne Jones both of Springfield; sisters, Lois Plesinwizz of Detroit MI, Judy Dowlen and husband, Jim of Joelton, and Wanda Howell of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great  grandchildren.

Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
