Dorena Ann Nichols, age 86 of Springfield and formerly of Madison, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Morningside of Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Brantley Darnell, Matthew Simmons, Scott Simmons, Jay Bedsole, Jay Darnell, and Gregory Turner serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service.
Mrs. Nichols was born December 23, 1932 in Robertson County to the late Henry and Vera Spain Wilson. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ and formerly a member of Rivergate Church of Christ. She was a great cook and she adored her family. She was also a graduate of Coopertown High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ralph Nichols.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Faith Ann and Allen Gunn of Wetumka, AL, Dianne and Randy Simmons of Ft. Myers, FL, and Glynda Kay and Greg Turner of Chattanooga; brother, Tommy Wilson of Springfield; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
