Donnie Barry Obituary

Robert Donnie Barry, 74, of Cross Plains, departed this life on Thursday June 13, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. To honor his request, his remains will be cremated, and no services are scheduled. Donnie was born January 19, 1945 in Robertson County to the late Robert E. and Mary Dixon Barry. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Cross Plains United Methodist Church. After retiring from truck driving, Donnie worked five years for the Sumner County Sheriff's Department. He enjoyed horseback riding, watching car racing, working in his yard, and going to/having yard sales. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson: Christopher Rye.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 57 years: Martha Stewart Barry of Cross Plains, by his daughter: Sharon Kaye Rye of Cross Plains, by his brother: Sammy Barry of Cross Plains, and by his sisters: Sue Iwanowski and Jamie Hamby both of Cross Plains.
