Carole Jane Rowlette Benton, age 83 of the Owens Chapel Community in Springfield, died Friday, August 23, 2019 at her home. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, August 26, 2r019 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Chapel Cemetery with Joshua Benton, Bud Benton, Casey Buck, Brandon Weaver, Mike Meyer, and Steve Meyer serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 until 5 PM and Monday from 10 AM until the hour of service.
Mrs. Benton was born November 7, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Joseph Dewitt and Annie Laura Brinkley Rowlette. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Joy Wilson and Laura Estep, and a granddaughter, Emily Ann Benton.
She is survived by her husband, William Earl Benton of Springfield to whom she would have been married 65 years on August 28th; sons , Richard Earl Benton and wife, Carol, of Springfield and Joseph Frank Benton and wife, Cindy, of Springfield; daughter, Bethany Jane Lampley and husband, Michael, of Dickson; sister, JoAnne Mayberry of Springfield; grandchildren, Amy Jo Meyer, Joshua Benton, William “Bud” Benton, Benjamin Woods, Julianna J. Weaver, and Casey D. Buck; and great grandchildren, Mike Meyer, Emily Paige Pentecost, Aniya Woods, Isabella Buck, Jaxon Woods, Paisley Jane Weaver, Elijah Buck, and Bryson Benton.
