Carl William “Billy” Pentecost, 81, of Springfield, passed away on Monday November 18, 2019 at Brookdale in Goodlettsville. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday November 23rd at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be David Peach, Randy Peach, Cameron Peach, Charles Perry, Jerry Sloan, Ernest Adcox, and the members of the Hardee’s Coffee Club. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Pentecost was born June 12, 1938 in Springfield to the late George Martin and Addie Mae Chance Pentecost. He was a retired Operations Supervisor with the Water/Wastewater Department for the City of Springfield and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Pentecost loved camping, fishing, going to the lake, bowling, and was a member of the Hardee’s Coffee Club. He was an avid Vanderbilt Commodore’s and Tennessee Titan’s fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Lola Shelton, Mary Dennison, Sally Peach, Alice Shelton, Joel, James, John, and George Pentecost, Jr. Mr. Pentecost is survived by his wife of 47 years: Linda Jones Pentecost of Springfield, by his daughter: Erin Pentecost of Franklin, KY, and by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
