Shirley Jean (Ramsey) Adams

Shirley Jean Ramsey Adams, age 87 of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie Bryant and Bro. Gary Dillard officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Cole Adams, Mark Ramsey, Mike Ramsey, Martin Schmidt, Brian Schmidt, and Darrell Thaxton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Maleque Hudson and Lance Starks. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM and Friday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

Ms. Shirley was born July 15, 1936 in Adairville, KY to the late Hobert Lee and Ethel Pearson Ramsey. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was retired from Acme Boot with 30 years of service. She later worked at Wal-Mart in the break bar. She loved all of her family and enjoyed farm life. She was hard working, enjoyed working in her flower garden and enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, and doing jigsaw puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Codie Adams; a great granddaughter, Kelsey Thaxton; brothers, Hobert Lee Ramsey, Jr. and R.C. Ramsey; and sisters, Frances Schmidt, Helen Kennedy, and Nancy Wilks Brown.

Surviving Ms. Adams are her sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Tina Ellis of Springfield and Shane and Laura Adams of Springfield; daughter, Terri Darrow of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Miranda Goodloe of Adairville, KY, Brittney Naylor of Dickson, Chelsea Shaw of Clarksville, Cole Adams of White House, Bobby Thaxton of Springfield, and Darrell Thaxton of Springfield; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
