Maxine Wilson Morris, 89, of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday January 17, 2024, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center. A private family graveside service will be conducted in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Harris officiating. There will be no visitation held.
Ms. Maxine was born September 29, 1934, in Springfield, to the late James Herbert and Mamie Pendelton Wilson. She worked for Acme Boot in Springfield, and then retired from Wilson Sporting Goods as a golf bag seamstress. Ms. Maxine also served as the director of the Robertson County Emergency Food Bank for over 20 years. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and her favorite pastime was riding all over Robertson County seeing what she could see and visiting friends and family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Felix Ewing Morris, by her son: Michael E. Morris, and by her siblings: Bessie Briggs, Junior Wilson, Robert Lee Wilson, and Charles Wilson.
Ms. Maxine is survived by her son: James “Tubby” Morris of Ridgetop, by her daughter: Vickie Morris of Springfield, by her sister: Betty Fay Wilson of Nashville, by her six grandchildren, by her nephew: Curtis (Christina) Briggs, Jr., of Goodlettsville, and by several nieces and nephews.
