Marjorie Carol “Marge” Huffaker, 84, of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Saturday March 9, 2024, at American House Assisted Living in Hendersonville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday March 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Spain officiating. Interment will follow in the Cross Plains Cemetery with Christopher Baldwin, Nathan Beech, Chris Royer, Rick Wright, Alex Brymer, and Tom Huffaker, Jr., serving as pallbearers. Terry Baldwin will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Huffaker was born June 28, 1939, in Monticello, KY, to the late Luther and Nell Marsh Barrier. She was a graduate of Monticello High School and was a majorette. Mrs. Huffaker was a bookkeeper, but the profession she loved most was being a homemaker and caring for her family. She loved painting, flower gardening, and anything that allowed her to be outside enjoying nature, birds, looking at the clouds, and animals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Dewey Huffaker, Sr, and by five brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Huffaker is survived by her son: Thomas Dewey Huffaker, Jr., of Cross Plains, by her daughters: Cindy Williams of Gallatin, Pat Baldwin of Cross Plains, Linda Royer and husband Chris of Cross Plains, by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, with #13 on the way, and the first great great grandchild soon to be born.
