Diane (Brett) Frey

Diane B. Frey, 70, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday December 25, 2023, at her home. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Saturday January 13, 2024, from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be conducted at the Palestine Methodist Church with Reverend Diane Coppock officiating. Burial of cremains will be in the Palestine Cemetery.

Diane was born August 12, 1953, in Birmingham, AL. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama, was a retired District Manager with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and was a member of Palestine Methodist Church. Diane took a great deal of satisfaction and fulfillment from her prior work for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, doing her best to ensure each child had a positive role model in his or her life. She also had a deep love for her rescue dog, Sophie. It was a rare occasion to find Diane or Sophie in one place without the other next to their side. 

Diane was preceded in death by her father: Willard Brett, and by her brother: Stephen Wayne Brett. She is survived by her son: Jarod Richert of Nashville, by her daughter: Lauren (Christine) Richert of Chicago, IL, by her mother: Peggy Murray Brett of Decatur, AL, by her sister: Karen Brett (Mike) Wynn of Decatur, AL, by her niece: Chelsey Wynn (Justin) Bellamy of Decatur, AL, and by her nephew: Cody Wynn of Decatur, AL.
