Carole Williamson Obituary

Carole Jean Williamson, 83, of Springfield, passed from this life on Friday February 9, 2024, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Friday February 16th at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Kat (Smiley) Mercer, Wanda Mason, Steve Sorrells, and Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery with Josh Williamson, Justin Williamson, Tyler Williamson, McKenzie Williamson, Carter Mason, Tommy Williamson, and Todd Williamson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Williamson and Cora Ann Williamson. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Ms. Carole was born February 27, 1940, in Chapel Hill, to the late Herman and Margaret Jordan Robinson. She was a graduate of Forrest High School in Marshall County, and then went on to receive her master’s degree in teaching from Middle Tennessee State University. She was a retired school teacher with the Robertson County Board of Education, and was teaching at Greenbrier High School at the time of her retirement. Ms. Carole was a sports fan, especially baseball and was an avid fan of the LA Dodgers and the Nashville Sounds. She worked part time for the Nashville Sounds when they played at Greer Stadium. Ms. Carole loved antiques, auctions, fashion, shopping, and entertaining. She was the former head of hospitality for the Bell South Senior Classic. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Timothy R. “Tim” Williamson, and by her brother: Tommy Robinson.

Ms. Carole is survived by her loving husband: Randall “Randy” Williamson of Springfield, by her sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas R. “Tommy” and Tammie Williamson of Greenbrier, Todd and Misty Williamson of Springfield, by her seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one granddaughter-in-law, and by her devoted caregiver: Kat (Smiley) Mercer.
