Ronnie Douglas

Ronnie Lee Douglas, 79, of Springfield, died Saturday April 15, 2017 at Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Carroll, Dr. Bob Cook, and Dr. Steve Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jim Butterworth, Keith Lampley, Clifton Gupton, Rudy Reddick, Kevin Douglas, Todd Pendleton, Brent Gower, and Brad Gower serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardee's Coffee Club and the Tobacco Belt Antique Car Club. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Grace Baptist Church. Masonic services will be Monday at 8:00 p.m. at Robertson County Funeral Home.

Mr. Douglas was born June 1, 1937 in Robertson County to the late Robert Lee and Fannie Browning Douglas. He served thirty-two years in the Army National Guard, and was a retired equipment operator with the Ford Plant. Mr. Douglas was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Western Star Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He was a past president for the Tobacco Belt Antique Car Club. Mr. Douglas loved to collect and restore antique cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Charles Owen Douglas.

Mr. Douglas is survived by her wife: Peggy Brooks Douglas of Springfield, sons and daughters-in-law: Jeffery and Linda Douglas of Irmo, SC, Troy and Tina Douglas of Augusta, GA, grandchildren: Lauren (Matthew) Fogle, Hannah Douglas, Megan Miles, and Aaron Douglas, four great grandchildren.
