Melinda Lee Long

Melinda Lee Long, 54, of Springfield, died Saturday March 3, 2018 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 8th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Sam Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Elliott Wayman, Landon Anderson, J. Anderson, Kelly Mendez, Shane Anderson, and Terry Cadwell serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Melinda was born June 22, 1963 in Robertson County to the late J. Mart and Lottie Woodham Anderson. She had worked in the dietary department at the Waters of Springfield and was a member of West End Free Will Baptist Church. Melinda loved fishing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very giving and caring person to all she knew. Melinda always loved knowing what was going on and sharing information with those she cared about. As her family stated, you could telegraph, telephone, or tell Melinda.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Deana Anderson. Melinda is survived by her husband: James "Toby" Long of Springfield, son and daughter-in-law: Erik and Kellie Lane of Springfield, daughter and son-in-law: April and Brandon Conner of Hendersonville, step-daughter: Evelyn Johnson of Shelbyville, brothers: Sam (Lula) Anderson of Chapmansboro, David Anderson of Greenbrier, sisters: Marlette Wildmone of Springfield and Esther (Mike) Wayman of Hendersonville, eight grandchildren.
