Larry Keith McKinnon

Larry Keith McKinnon, age 51 of the Martin's Chapel community in Springfield, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Thompson and Pastor Kenny Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Martin's Chapel Cemetery with Steve Vaughn, Billy Hampton, David Wooten, Britt Scott, Brian Simpson, Tim Moulton, Phillip Bunn, and Mike Pratt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Austin McAdams, Dale Harris, Adam Pratt, Jeff Saxon, Rocky Brown, Todd Beasley, Ken Brown, and Michael James.
Mr. McKinnon was born August 24, 1964 in Davidson to Annie B. Wilson Hayes and the late Larry McKinnon. He was a member of Martin's Chapel United Methodist Church, was a retired pipefitter, and was a member of Local Union 572. He graduated in 1982 from John Overton High School. He loved his family and enjoyed playing the piano.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Gaye McKinnon of Springfield; sons, Brian McKinnon and wife Sheila of Huntsville, AL, Brian Bunn and wife Christy of Cedar Hill, Brent Bunn of Springfield, and Steven Palmer of Harlan, KY; daughters, Breanna McKinnon of Atlanta, GA and Brandy Fletcher and husband Joey of Pleasant View; mother, Annie B. Hayes of Springfield; sister, Karen Brown and husband Ken of Nashville; and grandchildren, Jackson Fletcher, Preston Elliott, Bailey Needham, Jordyn Fletcher, and Peyton Henderson.
The family request memorial contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
