Kay Hand Obituary

Geneva Kay Hand, 66, of Springfield, died Sunday July 3, 2016 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 6th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Ward officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Denson Cemetery with Michael Sprouse, Allen Sprouse, Tyler Sprouse, Brandon Sprouse, John Price, Dustin Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Colt Alley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hand was born November 4, 1949 in Robertson County to the late Sidney and Beatrice Hicks Bilyeu. She had worked as a chair assembler at Hinkle Chair Company and attended Mt. Denson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Hand enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano, reading her Bible, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Penny Kay Johnson, and by her siblings: Lynn Biggs, Jimmy, Dan, and Bobby Bilyeu.

Mrs. Hand is survived by her husband of 49 years: Charles Hand of Springfield, daughter and son-in-law: Angela and Michael Sprouse of Springfield, brothers: Charlie, Joe, and Tom Bilyeu all of Springfield, sisters: Frankie Hunter, Elizabeth Roach, Brenda Douglas, and Tiny Mae Hand all of Springfield, grandchildren: Tyler and Brandon Sprouse, Darcey and Dustin Johnson, great grandchild: Bryson Alley.
