Josephine Hewitt Obituary

Josephine Dickerson Hewitt, age 87 of Adams, died Wednesday April 15, 2015 at NHC Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday April 19th at 2 pm in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Cemetery with Mark Poole, Greg Poole, Brian Ellis, Jason Jones, Chip Jones, Brannon Jones and Shane Burton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 11 am.
Mrs. Hewitt was born September 18, 1927 in Robertson County, Tennessee to the late Jimmy and Irene Plunkett Dickerson. Her husband, Edice Carlton Hewitt and sisters, Ann Murphy, Sue Morrison and Katherine Robbins preceded her in death.
She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, the Red River Chapter #88 of the Eastern Star, Adams F.C.E., Tennessee-Kentucky Thresherman Association, Robertson Co. Historical Society and retired from Acme Boot after 34 years.
Surviving Mrs. Hewitt are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Betty Hewitt of Springfield, granddaughter, Lesley Hewitt Davidson, great grandchildren, Brady and Kailey Davidson and sisters, Bessie Clinard, Georgia Dale and Peggy Poole.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Red River Chapter #88 of the Eastern Star or to St. Jude Children's Hospital
