Johnny Spain

Johnny Spain, 72, of Springfield, died Thursday January 29, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday February 1st at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Spain and Bro. Bob Filson officiating. Interment will follow in the Owens Chapel Cemetery with Jason Krisle, Brad Spain, Kevin Spain, Donnie Spain, Ray Spain, and Weston Adams serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Wooden, James F. Cook, Melvin Spain, Pete Spain, Bennie Spain, Lowell Duncan, and Spencer Williams. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.

Mr. Spain was born April 22, 1942 in Robertson County to the late Arthur and Vadie Eden Spain. He was a retired maintenance worker from North Crest Medical Center and was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Spain enjoyed working with metal, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: James Edward Spain.

Mr. Spain is survived by his wife of 53 years: Ruth Hughlett Spain of Springfield, son and daughter-in-law: Doug and Connie Spain of Springfield, daughter and son-in-law: Diane and Jerry Clemmons of Springfield, brothers: Bennie, Melvin, Pete, and Donnie Spain all of Springfield, sisters: Jo Ann Briley of Springfield, Wanda Spivey of Orlinda, and Evaline Hart of Westmoreland, grandsons: Jason Krisle, Brad (Brittany) Spain, Kevin Spain, great granddaughter: Hadleigh Spain.
