Jewelean Mayberry Reaves

Jewelean Mayberry Reaves, 80, of Springfield, died Saturday October 4, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday October 8th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reaves was born September 2, 1934 in Jackson County, TN to the late Gladys and Lucille Mathis Mayberry. She was a retired registered nurse, having graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis in 1958. She was of the United Methodist faith. Mrs. Reaves enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, quilting, and being with her family. She was a great country cook and absolutely loved working on family genealogy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Samuel H. Reaves, Sr., her son: Samuel H. Reaves, Jr., her grandson: Patrick Reaves, and by her brother: Loiell Mayberry.

Mrs. Reaves is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Lloyd and Kim Reaves of Mansfield, TX, her daughter: Diann Reaves of Murfreesboro, brothers and sisters-in-law: Phillip Mayberry of Naples, FL, Odell and Joann Mayberry of Springfield, Don and Shirley Mayberry of Madison, and Edith Mayberry of Goodlettsville, grandchildren: McKayla Reaves and Brian Reaves, many nieces and nephews.

The family request memorial contributions be made to the Samuel Reaves Memorial Scholarship Fund at Mississippi State University. Please make payable to MSU Foundation and send c/o Robertson County Funeral Home
