Jessie Ward Obituary
Jessie Lee Ward, 88, of Springfield, died Monday January 19, 2015 at NHC Healthcare Center in Springfield. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday January 20th at 3:00 p.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Larry Ward, Keith Ward, Danny Wilson, Michael Ward, Phillip Ward, and Timothy Wilson. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeremy Ward. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mrs. Ward was born October 3, 1926 in Harrisburg, IL to the late William Harrison and Gertrude McDaniel Hart. She was a retired purchasing agent from the former Madison Hospital and was a member of Portland Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Ward loved writing poetry and studying her Bible. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Edgar Allen Ward.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Terresa Ward of Denham Springs, LA, Keith and Lori Ward of Murfreesboro, daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Robert Garrett of Greenbrier, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
