Janice Kirkland

Janice Marie Pike Kirkland, 77, of Springfield, died Wednesday May 17, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday May 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Entombment will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Justin Dorris, Dusty Dorris, Joey Dorris, Tommy Dorris, Josh Henning, and Adam Pike serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kirkland was born October 28, 1939 in Robertson County to the late Sim and Mary Frances Rawls Pike. She retired as a stitcher from Pro Bags. Prior to working at Pro Bags, she had managed Dowlen's Restaurant, and had worked as a waitress at both Vernon's and Larry's restaurants. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. She loved cooking, decorating, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Jeff Kirkland, her brothers: Roger and Kenny Pike, and by her sister: Patricia Busey.

Mrs. Kirkland is survived by her husband of 57 years: Pete Kirkland of Springfield, son: Randy Kirkland of Springfield, daughter: Kim Dorris of Springfield, daughter-in-law: Dawn Kirkland of Springfield, grandchildren: Dusty (Amanda) Dorris, Tommy Dorris, Justin (Christy) Dorris, Joey (Jessi) Dorris, Shalona (Josh) Henning, and Jessica Traughber, and by 9 great grandchildren
